In this module, we will cover descriptive statistics - statistical procedures used to summarize, organize, and simplify data.

We will be going over Part I (Chapters 1-4) in Essentials of Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences in this module. At the end of this unit, you should be able to explain:

  1. Population vs. sample
  2. Parameters
  3. Variables and variable scales
  4. Experimental methods
  5. Sampling errors
  6. Types of frequency distributions
  7. Central tendencies (mode, median, mean) and variability
