Annotate Pro to Canvas: Building Custom Comment Libraries - RESCHEDULED Online

Join the ASC and the NCTL to transition from Annotate Pro to Canvas Comment Libraries. This session will focus on how to give effective assignment or task-specific feedback and how to identify your own commenting patterns to build a custom library of regularly used comments. We’ll share the Annotate Pro library of comments in a searchable spreadsheet, match those comments to your assignment and course rubrics, and start building a custom comment library in Canvas. We’ll work from our comment library as a start and show you how to use Microsoft CoPilot to further customize your comments. You’ll leave with your own spreadsheet of comments, the start of a Canvas Library, and some new strategies and best practices for giving effective feedback.

Workshop Outcomes:

  1. Describe and discuss characteristics of effective assignment feedback
  2. Reflect on feedback practices and identify commonly used comments for individual assignments
  3. Revise and customize comment libraries through rubric and assignment analysis and AI prompts
