Learning Theory Foundations of Clinical Supervision Online
This 2-hour continuing education session focuses to the science of learning, teaching clinical supervisors how to utilize established learning theories to maximize skill acquisition and retention in their supervisees.
Supervisors will explore how foundational learning theories directly inform daily supervision practices, examining the mechanics of behavioral modeling, precise feedback delivery, self-directed learning, and structured reflective exercises. Moving from theory to active implementation, participants will discuss translating these concepts into high-impact teaching strategies, such as behavioral rehearsal (role-play), guided discovery, and case conceptualization scaffolding. Finally, supervisors will learn to systematically evaluate a supervisee’s current learning readiness and preferred processing style.
