Affirming Assessment Masters Class for Neuro Affirming Skills

Affirming Assessment Masters Class for Neuro Affirming Skills Online

The affirming assessments masterclass is a course that focuses on integrating evidence-based neuro-affirming skills into existing assessment practices to create a more inclusive, validating, and accurate evaluation process. Whether a provider is performing an ADOS2, Executive Functioning, or a DIVA, participants will learn how to recognize diverse neuro identities, complex-masking around neurodiversity, cultural backgrounds, and family dynamics, while applying standardized assessment tools in a manner that affirms the individual’s lived experience. The masterclass emphasizes practical strategies for rapport-building, language usage, and reflection-in-action to reduce bias and improve patient engagement and trust during assessments. Through a blend of evidence-based frameworks, case exemplars, and interactive scenarios, providers will acquire actionable techniques to tailor their medical model assessments to fit the unique needs of the children and adolescents they serve.

Topics include creating an affirming intake process, conducting neuro-type appropriate interviews, incorporating trauma-informed practices, and aligning clinical impressions with patient-centered goals. By the end of the program, participants will be equipped to deliver more accurate diagnoses and care plans that honor each patient’s identity and context, while maintaining rigorous clinical standards.
