The Impact of Language on Healing Online
This interactive webinar is designed to help practitioners enhance their therapeutic communication and better understand the impact of language on healing. Participants will learn to view everything they say as suggestions and how to start seeding hypnotic suggestions prior to doing any formal trance work. We will discuss the importance of reframing and how to help reframe clients/patients self-talk which is the suggestions they give themselves – often unwittingly. You will learn to identify and help them to reframe the suggestions they have internalized from others, and be able to teach clients how to make effective suggestions when using self-hypnosis.
Dr. Forester-Miller will discuss implicative words and how they relate to the placebo and nocebo effects. You will be learning how you can embrace the power of suggestion and enhance possibilities for your clients/patients, as well as decrease the potential nocebo effects. Interactive exercises will include looking at some common statements as suggestions. We’ll review what the clinician said, what the client/patient heard, and what the clinician actually meant, and how to enhance that communication.
