Global Perspectives in Behavior Analysis: Faculty-Led Study Abroad in Japan and South Africa Online
Study abroad programs offer unique opportunities for students to develop cultural competence while deepening disciplinary knowledge. This presentation describes two faculty-led study abroad courses in South Africa and Japan that examine cultural differences through the lenses of behavior analysis, education, and psychology. Both programs are designed to help students understand how cultural values, historical contexts, and social systems influence human behavior, learning, and psychological practice across global settings. During this session, two faculty will answer questions regarding the societal view of behavior analysis within the cultural context, historical context and impact of global of each country and our ethical obligation to be culturally aware and informed within our practice.
