Unity in Diversity: Collaborative and Culturally Responsive Behavioral Consultation with Diverse Populations in Indonesia Online

Bhinneka tunggal ika means unity in diversity in Indonesian. This phrase is an integral part of the culture of this incredibly diverse nation. When building global partnerships, it is important for behavior analysts to evaluate biases, seek opportunities for professional development, and work collaboratively to create programs that address the diverse needs and contexts of those we support (BACB, 2020, 1.07). In this presentation, we will discuss the development and initial evaluation of a collaborative and culturally responsive behavioral consultation partnership between universities and service providers in Indonesia and the United States. Cultural and ethical implications for international research, program development, and program evaluation in a global context will be discussed (BACB, 2020, 6.01, 6.03, 6.06; OHRP et al., 2024) and illustrated through vivid case examples.
